Diet and Nutrition
"The cell is
immortal,
it is merely the fluid
in which it floats
that degenerates.
Renew this fluid at intervals,
give the cells what they require
for nutrition
and as far as we know,
the pulsation of life
may go on forever"
Dr. Alexis Carrel
Nobel Prize Winner
We eat for pleasure, we eat for energy, we eat because we must. We eat
for entertainment and we have to eat to maintain life, but what makes
up the ideal diet?
We are constantly seeking a diet that we enjoy eating and yet doesn't
make us fat or kill us. We rarely consider food in terms of chemistry
that produces a fuel from amino acids, fatty acids and glucose that
drives our physical machinery effortlessly or somewhere between just OK
or poorly.
We produce something between rocket fuel and dirty gas through
digestion, absorption and elimination of food and the resulting
metabolic by-products. Food was designed to assist the human body
in the work of life, and should be considered powerful and therapeutic.
Each one of us has a particular combination of proteins, fats and
carbohydrates that are most efficient for us at any given time and
situation, our job is to learn the formula that drives our particular
machinery at peak efficiency. The first step toward this formula is to
evaluate the overall quality of the food we use to drive our lives, and
apply the following simple rules while seeking the ideal combination
for your optimum health condition.
Diet Recommendations
•Eliminate
all fake food from your diet. White products, soda, hydrogenated fats,
colors, genetically engineered foods.
•Eat natural,
whole foods well combined and
carefully prepared.
•Learn your personal genetic fingerprint of food compatibility, ABO
Blood Type, within the total environment of food choices.
•Learn
how much and what kind of protein, carbohydrate and fat your body needs
to function at peak efficiency given your daily energy requirements and
exercise routines.
• Keep meals fresh, simple, light and nutritious.
• Eat fresh fruits, vegetables, animal products, whole grains and
beans, herbs and oils from the most organic or sustainable agricultural
practices you can locate. If your digestion is delicate, steam
vegetables and fruits to assist in their digestibility.
• Soft cooked grains and beans with simple or no spicing preferred.
Vegetables should be as varied, colorful, and vital as possible.
• Drink little liquid during meals; it dilutes digestive juices and
impairs digestion.
• Have at least 1 to 1 1/2 TBSP. Omega 3 oils (Norwegian Fish oils,
Extra Virgin Olive, Flax seed) per day. Lecithin is a vital
addition for fat metabolism and brain chemistry support.
• During the time of cellular restoration eat sparingly junk foods,
alcohol, refined sugars, white flour products, dairy,
hydrogenated (hard) fats, baked or cooked nuts and
domestic meats. Such foods are not easily digested while placing
high demands on the body. Acute conditions avoid altogether.
• Do not eat when you are emotionally upset, stressed, or after a hard
physical workout.
• Eat slowly, only when hungry and stop before you are full.
• Do your best to make good food choices.
A
positive and loving attitude towards yourself, others, and life, along
with a healthy diet, is the ultimate combination for a long, joyous and
productive life.
